Downsizing and preparing for a move

After years of living in the same home, time may come to downsize or move into an independent or personal care retirement community. A lifetime of belongings are suddenly staring you in the face.   • Photographing your items so they can be placed in the proper spot in your new home or to maintain a list of what was sold and/or donated
  • Contacting appraisers, antique dealers, auctioneers, consignment shops and eBay specialists to gauge interest in selling selected possessions
  • Scheduling charitable organizations to pick up items to be donated
  • Coordinating with a mobile shredding service to pick up documents requiring shredding
  • Arranging for the disposal of unwanted items and trash
  • Contacting a professional mover to arrange for an estimate to pack and move your contents
  • Overseeing the professional packers and mover on moving day
  • Unpacking your boxes and recreating the feeling of home in your new residence

Content removal and/or estate liquidation

Often this is a responsibility left to a surviving child (or family), who has been identified as the Power of Attorney (POA) or Estate Executor. Along with that comes the task to properly attend to the items left behind. This is a difficult challenge often mixed with emotion and limited time resources. Whether you are across the country or right down the road, we can help you with the decisions.
